Mini Galerie proudly presents Language Of The Forest, a limited series of 10 works on paper, created by Vincent de Boer during his weeklong residency at Studio Bosk, the gallery’s forest studio up in Friesland, The Netherlands.

During his residency at Studio Bosk, Vincent de Boer engaged in meditative walks through Gaasterland’s forests, capturing photographs of objects that intrigued him. These images served as reference points for his work. De Boer begins with a drawing of an intriguing aspect, which evolves through six or seven ‘translations’ into new abstractions. This process mirrors linguistic translation, where each iteration diverges from the source, creating new meanings. De Boer thus crafts a unique visual language through the abstraction of natural forms.

Vincent de Boer (1988) is a Dutch artist, whose background is rooted in calligraphy. Fascinated by the world that opens up in a single brush stroke, he explores the complexity of movement. His body of work reflects his deep understanding of material and technique and the concentration required to master them. De Boer’s work has been exhibited internationally at venues including Hashimoto Contemporary New York, Musée Cluny in Paris, AtypI Conference in Tokyo, Het Hem, Stedelijk Museum Schiedam, and many others. His work has been acquired by numerous esteemed collections such as Rijksoverheid, Eye Museum, ING Art Collection, ASR Art Collection, and others.
